AmaWaterways to Welcome AmaSerena, AmaVista in 2015

Ralph Grizzle

It’s been a busy summer for AmaWaterways. Hot on the heels of the christening of AmaSonata, the popular river cruise line has confirmed they will introduce two new Certo Class river cruise ships in Europe next year.

Currently under construction in the Netherlands, AmaSerena and AmaVista will be capable of carrying 164 guests and will represent the latest evolution of one of AmaWaterways’ most popular designs that began with the launch of the AmaCerto in 2012. Launching in 2015, AmaSerena and AmaVista will sail the Danube, Main and Rhine rivers.

“We are delighted to welcome AmaSerena and AmaVista to our European fleet, and to be responsive to the rising demand for new ship design and offerings in this particular region,” said Kristin Karst, AmaWaterways’ Executive Vice President and Co-Owner. “With a distinctive approach to offering unparalleled service and comfort, these two beauties are best-in-class. They will undoubtedly further our mission of bringing unforgettable river cruising experiences to AmaWaterways travelers.”

Both vessels will feature spacious accommodations with most staterooms boasting AmaWaterways’ unique Twin Balcony concept that includes both French and full step-out balconies within a single room. New to the ships will be connecting cabins with both vessels featuring a number of joining staterooms that will no doubt be popular with families and friends travelling together. Staterooms will be equipped with the line’s state-of-the-art entertainment on demand system, which affords travelers complimentary access to the Internet, the latest Hollywood movies, and a library of streaming music.

In 2015, AmaSerena can be found sailing the line’sweeklong Enchanting Rhine itinerary that operates between Amsterdam and Basel, Switzerland. An optional post-cruise land extension is also available that includes guided tours of Zurich and Lucerne. She will also operate two special Theme Cruises along the Rhine: a wine cruise hosted by wine expert Christopher Silva of St. Frances Winery & Vineyards; and a Jewish Heritage Cruise

AmaVista, on the other hand, will sail two separate itineraries for AmaWaterways: the springtime Tulip Time voyages that sail to some of the most spectacular ports of call in Belgium and the Netherlands during the height of the Tulip season; and the line’s signature Magnificent Europe sailing that spans 14 days in length and travels between Amsterdam and Budapest or reverse.

We’ll have more details on both of AmaWaterways’ upcoming new river cruise ships for 2015 as they become available.
