Celebrity Equinox Prepares to Set Sail

After enjoying rave reviews of its new Celebrity Solstice, Celebrity Cruises is preparing to launch a sister ship, the Celebrity Equinox, later this year. Like the Solstice, the Equinox will offer industry-leading features, along with luxurious, spacious staterooms and bathrooms. There will be several categories of accommodations on the new ship, including the spa-inspired AquaClass staterooms.

On the top deck of the Equinox, guests will delight in Celebrity’s trend-setting Lawn Club. The Lawn Club makes it possible to work on your putting technique, play bocce ball or have a picnic on real, growing grass while out at sea. Right next to the Lawn Club is the Hot Glass Show, a fascinating glassblowing show and studio developed with the Corning Museum of Glass.

The Equinox will offer 10 fabulous dining venues, including Murano Restaurant, perfect for enjoying a savory, multi-course dinner and a superb wine list. The Tuscan Grille Restaurant is a sophisticated steakhouse with fine Italian wines. Silk Harvest Restaurant presents the flavors of Vietnam, Thailand, Japan, China and India. Blu Restaurant, the exclusive dining venue for guests in AquaClass staterooms, serves healthy and delicious cuisine in a soothing atmosphere. For wine enthusiasts, Cellarmasters is a place to taste and learn about a variety of wines from around the world.

The inaugural sailing of the Equinox will be a 10-night “Best of Europe” cruise, departing August 8 from Southampton, England. The ship will visit ports in France, Spain and Portugal before ending in Rome (via Civitavecchia). Celebrity Cruises recently announced an additional soft launch of the Equinox, which will take place on July 31. The ship will depart from Southampton to sail through the Norwegian fjords, stopping at Stavanger, Flam, Geiranger and Oslo, Norway.

After its maiden voyage, the Equinox will divide its time between the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. To find out how you can sail on this luxurious new vessel, talk with your Cruise Specialists agent.
