We’re thrilled to once again have our story telling hosts Steve and Wendy Bodenheimer on board the 2017 Holland America Grand South America voyage.
From the must see sites at each port to the fun of belonging to the Cruise Specialists group, we’ll be giving you a peek in to this journey over the coming months. Don’t hesitate to ask our team if you have questions about finding your own perfect hosted cruise.
This year we are again sailing on Holland America’s small “elegant explorer”, the Prinsendam. We’ll be repeating slightly revised versions of the Grand South America and Grand Mediterranean voyages that we did in 2014 and 2015.
Here are two important reasons why that is never the case:
The Staff
The Holland America staff and crew make us feel like we’re coming home- but better- since they cook, clean and entertain us with boundless enthusiasm and energy.

And as we’ve mentioned before, there are endless things to do every day while you are on the ship. Do as many or as few as you wish- the choice is yours.
Always More to See
Even though we’ve visited most of these ports before, some of them three or four times, there’s never enough time to truly see everything a place has to offer.
There are streets we haven’t walked, excursions we haven’t taken, villages we haven’t checked out, beaches we haven’t explored, hills we haven’t climbed, trails we haven’t hiked, local cuisine we haven’t tried, local wines we haven’t sampled, museums we haven’t visited, geocaches we haven’t found and some wonderful people we haven’t met.
In the coming months our intrepid hosts and guests will be making stops in:
- Columbia
- Costa Rica
- Panama Canal
- Peru
- Chile
- Argentina
- Antarctica
- Brazil
