Some people take world cruises specifically because they go to exotic or emerging ports that might be difficult to see on their own, such as the Galapagos Islands, remote islands in the South Pacific, the Middle East, or St. Petersburg, Russia.
Plus, world cruise passengers simply love cruising. Most have cruised before, often quite extensively. They know that cruising is a fabulous way to travel: the ship has everything you need, and takes you from one beautiful port to another in superior comfort and style.
A social, relaxed group
In general, it’s fair to say that world cruise passengers are socially adept and enjoy getting to know new people as they explore new places. Some passengers form lasting friendships; some plan to reunite on future cruises. In fact, some groups plan to sail on the same ship again due to the warm friendships they form not only with each other, but with the crew.
If you’re at all concerned about getting bored while sailing with the same group of people for three months, be assured that segments of many world cruises are also available as stand-alone itineraries. So, at several major ports along the way, some people will leave the ship and some will come on board, refreshing the mix of passengers.
